Experience
1984 to 1992 — Management Consultant, Rath & Strong, Inc.
Total Quality
implementation was the major thrust of Rath & Strong,
Inc., Management Consultants. As a consultant, Annamarie participated
in multidisciplinary teams, providing organization development expertise
and collaborating closely with technical specialists. Client companies
included Kraft Foods, Stolle, Alcoa Building Products, Shure, Johnson & Johnson,
and Menasha. In each case, she demonstrated the ability to respond to
individual client needs. At Kraft, she developed a two-day facilitator-training
program using video as a major tool for feedback. At Stolle, she led
three teams to analyze workflow and quality problems in the manufacture
of RV refrigerators, resulting in a 70% improvement in quality and a
40% reduction in time. For Alcoa, she coached middle managers in personnel
issues. For Shure, she conducted team meetings in Spanish and coached
a high-performing work team of a dual-culture-management group. She also
developed a user guide for Total Quality implementation that became the
benchmark document for other Rath & Strong projects. For Johnson & Johnson,
she met with work-improvement teams on night shifts. For these clients
and others, she has trained more than 200 cross-functional teams, led
Total Quality simulations, and coached high-level steering committees
to achieve their work improvement goals.
